Horizon Europe Grants 2026: Open Calls

Horizon Europe 2026 – the world’s largest research and innovation funding programme with a total budget of over €95 billion. Since Ukraine gained associated country status in 2022, Ukrainian organisations participate in calls on equal terms with institutions from EU member states. In 2026, more than 50 active calls are open across various thematic clusters, from health and digital technologies to agriculture and climate. Call: HORIZON-CL6-2026-GOVERNANCE – European Partnership of Agriculture of Data (continuation)

Continuation of the European Partnership on Agriculture Data. Supports joint transnational calls, tools for farmers, data defragmentation and the onboarding of new partners from member states not yet participating. Includes ready-to-use innovations and recommendations for farmers, agricultural producers and public authorities.

Circular Economy in Cities and Regions (Circular Cities and Regions Initiative)

Call: HORIZON-MISS-2026-CIT-CCRI

Deploying systemic circular economy solutions through living labs. The consortium must include a minimum of 2 demonstration and 3 replication cities or regions. One of the replicators must be from a Widening Country – this opens participation to Ukrainian cities.

On Ukraine’s status in Horizon Europe: Following the signing of the association agreement in 2022, Ukrainian organisations participate fully in Horizon Europe calls on equal terms with organisations from EU member states. Pay particular attention to calls where Widening countries or Associated countries are explicitly mentioned – the chances of selection are higher there. Call: HORIZON-JU-CHIPS-2026 – Chips Joint Undertaking / Horizon Europe

Research and Innovation Action (RIA) in the field of microelectronics and semiconductors. Starting Technology Readiness Level (TRL): 3–4. Funding: 100% eligible costs (lump sum). Consortium: minimum 3 organisations from 3 different EU or associated countries. Technical universities and research institutes in Ukraine can participate as full members.

Twinning: Strategic Partnerships for Institutions from Widening Countries (incl. Ukraine)

Call: HORIZON-WIDERA-2026-02 – Twinning

Enhancing the scientific excellence and management capacity of research institutions from Widening countries. The coordinating institution – from Ukraine or another Widening country – partners with at least two leading research organisations or HEIs from different EU member states. Duration up to 3 years, lump sum.
