8 grants and fellowships for researchers: deadlines from 4 November to 15 December
Eight calls for researchers and research institutions added to the GetGrant database over the last two weeks. Seven have deadlines before the end of the year, the nearest on 4 November, and one accepts applications at any time.
The selection leaves out programmes where a Ukrainian institution can only be an unfunded guest. The research grants are open to applicants from any country or name Ukraine explicitly, and the postdoctoral positions are applied for by the researcher regardless of citizenship.
Research grants come first, followed by postdoctoral programmes and fellowships. A comparison table follows the descriptions.
Research grants
Amazon Research Awards, Fall 2026: up to $80,000 plus cloud credits

World Cancer Research Fund: up to £500,000 over four years
The Regular Grant Programme 2026-27 funds research on cancer prevention through diet and physical activity and from autumn 2026 pools funding across the whole network. Grants of up to GBP 500,000 over four years, open to applicants from any country. The first stage, a letter of intent, is due on 13 November.
Practical tip. What is due on 13 November is a letter of intent, not a full application. It is a short document, so three weeks is realistic if the idea and the team are already in place.

Postdoctoral programmes and fellowships

A stipend of ILS 168,000 per academic year plus up to ILS 20,000 for research expenses, for two years with a possible third. Researchers in any field who received a PhD no earlier than 1 November 2023 outside Israel can apply, with no citizenship restrictions. An academic sponsor at one of eight Israeli universities is required before applying.
Practical tip. Each sponsor can back only one candidate per cycle and cannot be your former PhD supervisor. Write to a potential sponsor now, not a week before the deadline.
