V4 Gen Mini Grants of the Visegrad Fund: up to EUR 10,000 for youth exchanges with Ukraine, draft by 1 November

The International Visegrad Fund has launched the call for the V4 Gen Mini Grants program. The grant scheme supports short-term cross-border mobility for youth aged 12 to 30 from the Visegrad region (Czechia, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia) and neighboring states, notably Ukraine.

Grants provide up to EUR 10,000 in lump-sum support to cover direct costs of youth exchanges and joint initiatives. A draft project proposal must be submitted by November 1, 2026, while the final application deadline is November 15, 2026, at 12:00 PM.

What is funded

The program finances short-term youth exchanges and visits lasting up to 7 days, within an overall project implementation timeframe of up to 7 months. The thematic priorities include sustainability and resilience, heritage and remembrance, health and active lifestyle, arts and culture, democratic values and civic virtues, as well as practical competences and entrepreneurship.

Funding is provided as a lump sum based on person-days, offering up to EUR 50 per day for each participant and chaperone, or up to EUR 60 per day if more than two different V4 countries are involved. The grant can cover expenses directly tied to the project, such as travel, accommodation, entrance fees, and honoraria, with additional co-financing encouraged.

Who can apply

Any legal entity officially registered in Czechia, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, or Ukraine that works with youth is eligible to apply. Eligible applicants include non-governmental organizations, elementary and secondary schools, vocational schools, higher education institutions, sports associations, and leisure-time clubs.

Each project partnership must involve at least two entities from eligible countries (Czechia, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, and Ukraine). Projects can also engage partner entities from countries that directly neighbor two V4 countries, specifically Austria, Germany, and Ukraine. Neither a shared border nor geographical proximity is required for partnership eligibility.

Conditions and requirements

Projects must organize at least one joint event attended by participants from all partner entities. In addition, each project must host at least one public presentation event for the local community, accompanied by creative offline or online outreach such as performances, essays, blogs, or social media outputs.

All projects are expected to reflect core horizontal principles: inclusiveness, teaching and learning, and cross-border cooperation. Initiatives should facilitate non-formal, informal, or formal competence acquisition, ensure engagement of diverse or disadvantaged groups, and foster regional connections among participants aged 12 to 30.

How to apply

Applicants must design a concept, partner with an eligible cross-border entity, and prepare an agreed activity plan in English. The application procedure requires submitting a draft project idea in the donor’s online system at least two weeks before the final deadline, by November 1, 2026, at 12:00 PM.

Practical tip. Register your project concept in the online portal well before the draft deadline on November 1 to satisfy the mandatory two-week requirement, and calculate your budget strictly using the daily person-rate formula of EUR 50 or EUR 60 per participant before final submission on November 15.

Applications are submitted on the donor’s page: visegradfund.org.
